The content on this website, including service descriptions, CRA deadlines, news articles and frequently asked questions, is general information only. It is not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice for your situation, and tax rules change often. Please don't act on it without speaking with us or another qualified professional about your circumstances.

We try to keep the website accurate and up to date, but we can't guarantee that every piece of information is complete or current.

4. Our services and fees

• Using this website or sending us a form does not, by itself, make you our client. A client relationship begins once we confirm that we will act for you, usually through an engagement letter or written confirmation.
• The terms of our professional services, including scope, responsibilities and fees, are set out in that engagement letter. If it differs from these terms, the engagement letter applies.
• Fees shown on this website, including the estimated fee in our online filing form, are estimates only. We will confirm your fee before we file anything.
• You are responsible for giving us complete and accurate information. Returns and filings are prepared from the information you provide.
• We may decline a request for services.

5. Using our online forms

• Please provide information that is true and complete, and only about yourself or people who have agreed to you sharing it.
• Submitting a form does not mean we have received documents, accepted your file, or started work. We will contact you to confirm next steps, usually within one business day.
• Please don't attach or send tax slips, receipts or other documents by regular email. Use our secure client portal instead.
• Information you send through our forms is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Client portal

Our secure client portal is provided through Heedlight. If you have a portal account, keep your sign-in details private and let us know right away if you think someone else has accessed your account. Use of the portal is also subject to the terms of the portal provider.

7. Acceptable use

When using this website, you agree not to:

• use it for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading;
• submit someone else's information without their permission, or impersonate another person;
• send spam, malicious code or automated requests;
• try to gain unauthorized access to the website, our systems or other users' information, or interfere with how the website works.

8. Reviews, maps and other websites

Our website shows our Google rating, reviews and a Google Map. Reviews are written by Google users, reflect their own experiences, and are displayed as published on Google; we do not edit them. Our website also links to other websites, such as Google and the Canada Revenue Agency. We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of other websites.

9. Our content

The text, design, logos and images on this website belong to Trust Business Partners Inc. or are used with permission. TrusTax and Trust Business Partners® are our names and marks. You may view and print pages for your personal use, but you may not copy, reproduce or reuse our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

10. Limitation of liability

This website is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content, or from being unable to use it. This does not limit our responsibilities under an engagement letter for services we provide to you, or any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute about them will be handled by the courts of British Columbia.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
